This northern rarity has been showing up at a feeder station at 6808 Fernbank Road in rural Stittsville. We went early to beat the rain, but the tradeoff was fairly low light.
There were many Black-capped Chickadees coming to the various feeders, but the Boreal seemed to have its favorite. Its visit lasted only a minute. We waited 20 minutes hoping for a return, but it was not to be. We headed home via Eagleson in case there were Snowy Owls out and about. There were not, but Barbara got a got shot of a group of Common Redpolls.
