After our amazing success the day before, it was only natural that the rest of our birding group wanted to see the Boreal Owl too. So Bill picked up Eleanor and met the rest of the group at the Leamy Lake Parking at 10:30 am.
This time we met no humans on the trail, just 4 White-tailed Deer.
Finally, at the extreme north end of the trail, we saw 3 photographers on the Boreal Owl. It was close to the position of the previous day, but back in the woods a bit, making clear shots difficult. Once again, the owl had a mouse, but this time it was storing it on the branch beside it.
The only other notable sighting was a flock of 18 Bohemian Waxwings, which were high in the trees and impossibly backlit. Our group was delighted to see the owl today. eBird checklist by Eleanor.
