On the road in, we saw a Broad-winged Hawk perched on a fence gate - spotted by Grant.
Around the cottage, we got a some American Goldfinches, a Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Eastern Phoebe, Yellow Warbler and Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.
In Maniwaki, we got a Wilson's Warber, a new bird for the list, and a couple of Bobolinks.
A big surprise were shorebirds on the lake - Dunlin and Lesser Yellowlegs (new birds) together with Spotted Sandpipers.
It was nice to see the Common Loons and Common Terns back for another year.

Mud Lake
May 9, 2017
It is warbler time at Mud Lake, but there were none in evidence on this day. Perhaps it was the flooding or the unusual spring weather - who knows. We had to content ourselves with the usual residents.
