There had been several ducks and a Yellow-billed Cuckoo reported. At first we only saw Mallards, but with the scope, we saw a few eclipse Northern Pintails at the far side of the cell. We had to look them up, because the signature field marks are absent during eclipse plumage time.
We could not find the cuckoo, but Barbara was excited to see a Monarch Butterfly, even though it was much too cold for it. We also saw a lot of Song Sparrows, which were untypically elusive.
