We planned to go out with JC Birding on the 5th (cancelled due to freezing rain) so looked for another outing that would not duplicate what Jane had planned. So w decided to go to Kemptville to look for the Tufted Titmouse.
We made a quick stop at Jack Pine to look for an American Three-toed Woodpecker, but good luck with that!
In Kemptville, we had better luck. It was not at the usual feeder, but another birder, Paul, told it was showing down the street. In fact, we saw two of them.
Later, a small group of Evening Grosbeaks and other birds also came in.
We came home via Eagleson Road and saw the resident Snowy Owl. We passed a field full of Herring Gulls on the way there.
Our last stop was at the Trail Road landfill. We saw a perched Red-tailed Hawk, but Bill failed to stop the car in time, so no pictures were possible. The usual trees were full of European Starlings.
