May 16, 2024
With the rest of May very busy, we opted to do this route when we had a chance.
Sightings were hard to come by, but Merlin hear quite a bit. The exception was a beautiful Golden Winged Warbler at SFalls 164A.
On Portland Rd past Settlement Rd, we checked out the wild leeks and saw an Ovenbird. At SF166I we had a Coopers Hawk fly past.
We finished before noon, so went to the Opincon for ice cream, only to find that we were one day before opening. So we had our sandwiches and drove to Queens University biological station where we got a few goodies.
We went home via Richmond Road and stopped near Munster for an Eastern Meadowlark.
No shrikes, as expected, but a pretty good day!
