We started our anniversary celebration with champagne and orange juice at home where we saw a Common Yellowhtroat in our garden.
We were going for lunch at the Ashton Brew Pub, but decided to check Twin Elm one last time for Rusties since Alan & Carol had seen them. No luck with the Rusty Blackbirds, but we got a nice Northern Shoveler and a couple of Least Sandpipers.
Our next stop was at the Richmond Lagoons. There was nothing on the water, but we saw Snapper again and a couple of Warblers.
We stopped briefly along Perth Road where we saw our first Bobolink.
Finally, we made it to the pub where we had a lovely lunch followed by a hike down to the Jock River.
There is a large marsh along Ashton Station Road where we heard both Virginia Rail and American Bttern, but they refused to show themselves despite concerted efforts. We stopped at Ritchie's to buy some flowers and got an RBA in the car advising us of a Tufted Duck at Andrew Haydon Park. We headed directly there and arrived just in time for a brief scope view before a guy in an inflatable boat scared it off.
