On Day 4 it was still
drizzling a bit, but was was better than before. We went to
Sheila McKee Park, which is just outside of the built-up part
of Kanata. We heard the hoped-for Yellow-throated Vireo sing
once, but it did not show. We hiked around some of the
trails, and Merlin heard many warblers and flycatchers, but
they all stayed well hidden.
So, we moved on to Constance
Creek where we had much better luck!
Finally, we went to Bruce Di
Labio's cottage in Constance Bay, where we hoped to see his
Red-headed Woodpecker pair. Alas, we had to content ourselves
with their large beautiful cousin.
In conclusion, we enjoyed our
four "Ottawa" birding days that you were meant to be on with
us. It would have been nicer to have been warmer and sunnier!
Next time🙂
Beautiful photos! Thank you so much for sharing, and warm greetings from Montreal!
