Arboretum and Mud Lake with JC Birding

May 9, 2018

On a hot tip, we went to the Arboretum beside Fletcher Wildlife Garden.  The was a Great Horned Owl with owlets.  Great view in the early morning sunshine

There were warblers too and kinglets and sparrows.

We could have stayed much longer, but Mud Lake was awaiting.

A Great Crested Flycatcher was singing as we exited our vehicles.

There was not a lot of variety in warblers to be had; many many Yellows, some Yellow-rumped and American Redstarts.  Pine Warblers were singing, but hard to see, but Barbara got a photo.

Beyond warblers, there were some nice sightings including Baltimore Oriole, Brown Creeper, Rose-breasted Grosbeak and Black-crowned Night-Heron.
