What a beautiful day! We wanted a hike in the woods with bird feeders nearby. Dewberry Trail on Dolman Ridge Road filled the bill perfectly.
We parked and had our lunch before setting off. Barbara spied an American Goldfinch at the main feeder.
We hiked the trail clockwise leaving our snowshoes in the car.
We came out into the open and took a trail extension westward, finally picking up a return trail that paralleled a ridge.
Picking up the return trail, we came upon some ravenous chickadees.
Back at the parking lot, we spent some time photographing birds in and around the feeders. We hadn't seen many redpolls this year, so that was a treat.
