We chose this day paddle from the brochure by Mississippi Field Naturalists. We know where it was because we had use the launch as a checkpoint for the Crazy Canuck Adventure Challenge.
The lake was shallow and very weedy, which was somewhat disappointing.
Nevertheless, we had a good day. We saw some birds and a Giant Swallowtail by the put in.
The lake had a couple of resident Great Blue Herons, Common Loons, Eastern Phoebes and several Eastern Kingbirds.
While packing up, we saw a very pale Red-tailed Hawk soar overhead
.
