There had been several reports of Nelson's Sparrows at Constance Bay. We knew the spot from last year's unsuccessful attempts, so decided to give it a try. Unfortunately it started to drizzle as we arrived, not ideal weather.
We made our way to the target area and Bill started checking the reeds. Barbara motioned to him to look up! There was a Red-shouldered Hawk perched right over his head.
Barbara did spot some sparrows, but they were Song and White-thoated.
As the rain picked up, and time was running short, we had to admit that we had dipped on this one again. But the hawk was a nice consolation.
