Sam's final game was in the morning, so we had time after lunch to go for the gnatcatcher. It had been reported early and again around noon in the west sumac filed at Mud Lake. But the bird disappointed us; it has not been seen since that last report.
Overall, it was pretty quiet, but thanks to another birder, Wilson, we did get on a nice mixed flock of warblers. We also saw a Merlin and a pair of Baltimore Orioles feeding on the buckthorn berries.
We drove around to the filtration plant, and got a few more warblers in a pine tree right by the building.
