After birding al day with JC Birding, we checked the weather forecast and realized that our pump might break overnight, since -5 deg was forecast for midnight onwards. So we hustled up there, drained the water, and crashed.
We woke up to s sunny but cold day, with the temperature just below zero. But the birds were not deterred. A flock of Evening Grosbeaks was at front and back feeders. The Northern Waterthrushes and other warblers were in full song.
We checked Gaipeau's marsh on the way out, and were surprised to find Rusty Blackbirds.
We went out for breakfast at Lachapelle's in Kaz, ten stopped at Chemin Burrough to check the bike trail. It was slow at first, but the warblers soon became vocal.
