Red-throated Loon

 June 15, 2021

We got an RBA late on June 14 that a Red-throated Loon was close to the bridge in Carleton Place.  At 7 am the next morning it was still being seen, so off we went.  We arrived shortly before 8 to see Langis Sirois and another birder on it; and Mike Tate soon showed up too.  We hurried over to get our shots. It was incredibly close to the west shore, but as it moved off, we went to the east bank for more photos.  Both Langis and Mike thought that the loon may be injured, as it was not diving or flying north as it should have done.

It was not a lifer, but it was certainly the best view we had ever had.
