There was still no sign on the baby loon from Seagull Rocks, but the pair at the north-east end of the lake now have 3 rather than 2 young, as they had last week. Three is a most unusual number.
Looking closely at the photos, it seems that the trailing chick is smaller and darker. It makes us wonder if it could be adopted. Could it be the missing chick from a couple of kilometers away?
Other birding was strictly incidental while fishing or on a shopping trip.
