Carleton Place Stonewater Bay Stormwater Pond

 September 9, 2021

Anne B. alerted us to a continuing American Golden Plover at a stormwater pond in Carleton Place.  Bill did not have an exact location, but located an eBird hotspot that seemed correct.  Well, it wasn't. We arrived at the Stonewater Bay pond, and looked in vain for the plover.  But we did see an obliging Green Heron, and then a second one!  There were frogs and turtles and a muskrat.

The pond was right beside the Mississippi River where there was an attractive trail and boardwalk.
