Jeff reported 8 male bluebirds, so we thought we couldn't miss. Right? Wrong! We went 3 times around the Scotch Pine Grove loop without spotting them. We did see a beautiful deer and an overwintering American Robin.
We were ready to head home, but as we crossed Tomas Dolan, Bill spotted an owl at the side of the road. We pulled over and managed to get a shot before it flew.
But the Barred Owl did not go far, so we turned around and went back and saw it a second time.
Well, we dipped on the bluebirds, but we got a nice owl!
