Bill got his wish to visit the sugar bush and enjoy some pancakes. Wheeler's is a traditional sugar bush with sit down restaurant. We arrived in time to check out the displays in the two museums. The only birds we saw were chickadees at their feeder.
Taking a different route home, we passed by Dalhousie Lake, which had a bit of open water near the outlet. We saw Hooded Mergansers and a Bald Eagle.
Knowing we were close to Barb C's cottage, we checked out a couple of concession roads and found her sign.
On Wolf Grove Road, we saw many deer and 5 unexpected Eastern Bluebirds. What a treat!
We passed through Almonte and checked the river for Common Goldeneyes.
We headed for home, but could not resist stopping at the CTC to see how the nesting ravens are doing.
We had a wonderful day!
