Rivière Picanoc Canoeing

May 6, 2012

Yes, back to back day trips, with Barbara running shuttle.

Driving to the start, we saw a Red Fox and a Porcupine.  When we arrived at the put-in, we saw another Broad-winged Hawk being harassed by a Common Raven.

This river is even more lively than the Désert, so there are no photos of the dozens of Spotted Sandpipers that we saw, nor of the many male Common Mergansers.  We couldn't even get a shot of the Northern Harrier on the way home.

Bird List (probably not complete)

  1. Common Raven
  2. Broad-winged Hawk
  3. Eastern Phoebe
  4. Yellow Warbler
  5. Yellow-rumped Warbler
  6. Spotted Sandpiper
  7. Common Merganser
  8. Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
  9. American Robin
  10. Northern Harrier
