White-winged Scoters Visit the Lake

May 19, 2019

We are back at the cottage to try the trout fishing - no luck, the water is too cold!  But we did see a brief fly-by of White-winged Scoters.

Most of the Buffleheads have now moved on, but the Common Mergansers are still present and the Common Loons are showing off.  But the lake is way to high for them to nest yet.

The only shorebirds are Spotted Sandpipers.

There are lots of Common Terns.

The Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was a nice find.
