A Second Owl? and Emerald Meadows Stormwater Ponds

 November 8, 2020

A fresh Red-bellied Woodpecker report sent us back to Mud Lake.  This time we checked Wlson's first tree, and the owl was home.

We met Rick and Judith who were also looking for the woodpecker without result.  Bill led them to the owl tree, but it had departed.

We hiked over to the bridge and saw a lovely pair of American Wigeons.

After lunch we went to Kanata to the ponds looking for a Ross's Goose.  It wasn't there, so we had to content ourselves with mergansers, and a late Great Blue Heron and Greater Yellowlegs.
