Barbara thought an early morning visit might net us the Red-bellied, so we skipped breakfast and headed over as the sun came up. Well, nobody sent the message to the woodpecker, but it's cousins were there! But we checked Wilson's screech owl and found it fast asleep. An Eastern Cottontail was in the yard.
After lunch, we decided to go to the Tennis Club, where a few warblers had been hanging out. And there was always the possibility of a Barrow's Goldeneye on the river. Well, neither of these panned out.
We had a chance to compare the larger Herring Gull with the Ringbills.
Bill went out onto the Adawe bridge and scanned the river; not much except a few distant Common Mergansers. So, we hiked along the riverbank to get some photos. We had to wait some time for them to wake up!
