A couple of interesting ducks were reported at Billing Bridge. We went and saw some of them. They were hard to find among the thousands of Mallards.
We then went to Fletcher. Our first stop was to look for the Barred Owl we had seen in December; not there. We met another birder who said that it was back in the traditional spot in the pine woods near the feeder. We went and looked at a lot of trees, but Bill finally spotted it as they cut through a trail on the way back.
We hiked back behind the building to check out the feeder. It was looking pretty ordinary until a Pileated Woodpecker showed up.
