After a few more RBAs, we decided to try again at the same place, Britannia Point. As we pulled up, other departing birders confirmed it was present. We set up our scope beside another couple, who told us where to look. Bill finally located two of them on the water, but my, they very very distant, pretty well invisible with the naked eye. One of the pair seemed to vanish, so we were left with one. Digiscoping was hopeless, so Bill got his camera and took a few very blurry shots. Barbara could not locate it with her camera. It did not help that they would dive from time to time. It was a new bird for Ottawa, but, of course, we had seen lots of these sea birds in the Maritimes.
