Fox Sparrow

 October 18, 2022

It was was a pretty nice day, so we thought we would check out the waterfowl at Dows Lake.  We parked at Fletcher Wildlife Garden and went out back to check the feeder.  We were pleased to see a Fox Sparrow feeding on the spilt seeds along with several White-throated Sparrows and Dark-eyed Juncos.

The feeder itself hosted all the usual species.

We tore ourselves away and hiked down the hill to the canal and along to Dows Lake.  Unfortunately, no rare ducks were present.  An American Black Duck with some Mallard genes was the best find.  But it was a beautiful day to be out in a lovely Ottawa park.
