It was another bitterly cold day in Ottawa. Some of the garden centres are opening up, so we went to Richie's in Richmond and bought some plants. Then we went to the Richmond conservation area for a short visit. We had to force ourselves to go along the path because of the cold and bitter wind. There were no birds, except Red-winged Blackbirds and a Common Grackle.
On the bright side, we got some good birds from our window, including a Hermit Thrush that stopped for a drink at our pond.
There were 5 goldfinches at the tray feeder, but only 2 left by the time we got the photo. The House Finch was a somewhat unusual visitor.
