In the morning, Barbara noticed a chickadee checking out one of our bird houses. Hope they nest this year.
Barbara was keen to see the owl in the tree that Jane had shown Bill in the rain. We parked beside the road and hiked in. Bill got confused because they came down a different trail than usual. But once they got into the right area, it was an easy find. The owl is still sitting, but more of her tail was showing this time.
We saw a Wild Turkey and Yellow-belied Sapsucker on the way to the owl tree.
We walked to the viewing station and bridge, and had some fun feeding the birds.
We saw a White-throated Sparrow and a Swamp Sparrow.
On the hike out to the car, we noticed lots of wild flowers in bloom.
We'll have to keep checking on that owl's nest!
