With the Quebec border finally open, we headed up to the lake, stopping only in Brennan's Hill for a fishing licence and some beer. The first order of business is to get the water in, but we were distracted frequently by a singing Northern Waterthrush. We stopped to photograph it and also saw a Back-and-White and a Black-throated Blue.
Then we hung our hummingbird feeder and within minutes we had two visitors. The main seed feeder was down, so it took quite a while to get it fixed.
Barbara discovered an Eastern Phoebe nesting inside our wood shed, so we decided to leave the blue tarp in place.
The next morning, w went for an early birding hike up the road. The best bird was a Wood Thrush.
Back at the cottage, we got some more birds at our feeders.
Barbara went on a hike with Colleen and got some more goodies.
We went for a paddle and saw another waterthrush and a blue jay.
For mammals, we had our Red Squirrel and a Red Fox on the trip home.
