We decided to go to the nursery on Eagleson to get more flowers, but were disappointed with what they had left. From there, we went out Malakoff Road We have noted this road as good for bluebirds in the past, and we were not disappointed. We also saw a couple of Brown Thrashers.
We carried on to the dead end on Klondike Road. Our plan was to hike in quite far, but we were thwarted by floodwaters.
We saw several Yellow Warblers and a Northern Water Snake.
We returned home and continued to monitor the Starling babies next door from our front porch.
In the late afternoon, w decided it was time to check the Barred Owl nest in Stoney Swamp.
Our timing was perfect, for many photographers had been there all day waiting for what we saw.
First, the mother.
Then one of the babies.
Then, mom caught a chipmunk and fed it to her young.
Truly spectacular luck. Before going home, we checked the lookout and bridge.
