Munster Road & Kettles Road

June 13, 2020

There have been some reports of an Olive-sided Flycatcher and Yellow-billed Cuckoo, so we headed out to look for ourselves.  At the Jock River bridge, we met old friend Bob Watt, who said that the flycatcher was singing just past the hydro line.  We went there right away, but the only birds we saw were common ones.

We moved to the railroad track on Kettles Road where Bill got a glimpse of the Yellow-billed Cuckoo. But it never showed up again.  Another birder said he had seen an upland Sandpiper at the corner of Munster and Franktown Roads, so we headed there. We got a Wild Turkey, Savannah Sparrow and distant Bobolinks, but no sandpiper.
