Before heading out, we again saw the Northern Flicker in our backyard. Photo taken through the window.
We headed over to east Gatineau to Marais aux Grenouilletes, which Jane calls Little Froggy Marsh. It certainly lived up to its name, as Northern Leopard Frogs jumped every which way as we walked along the trail. It was quieter than we had hoped, but w soon spotted a perched American Kestrel and a distant Bald Eagle.
We flushed an American Bittern and a Great Blue Heron.
We reached the Ottawa River and observed some distant Wood Ducks and another heron.
Other birds seen were Song Sparrows, Blue Jays and a Cedar Waxwing.
