Mud Lake

 April 6, 2021

We made a quick trip to Mud Lake hoping for early Pine Warblers. Instead we found Golden-crowned Kinglets.

Barbara hiked the ridge where she had a tumble, while Bill checked out down on the road.  She had a sore knee and cut lip, but carried on as usual.

Near the bridge, we saw some geese getting frisky and many turtles out sunning themselves. A squirrel was using a former woodpecker hole.

On the hike out, we came upon a Common Raven on the ground.  It had acquired a very large egg, perhaps from a goose, and was devouring it.
