A first for Ottawa was reported and seen by 50 birders at Dows Lake on the previous day. What would be the chances that it would still be there today? Only one way to find out...
The Neotropic Cormorant is smaller and lighter in colour than the familiar Double-crested. Here it is second from the right.
Looks like we were in luck. There were also many Double-crested Cormorants and Tree Swallows on this windy and cold day.
