After lunch we carried out our original plan to go to Richmond Conservation Area. There were only Canada Geese in the cells today. A highlight was an Eastern Garter Snake which Barbara showed to some delighted kids while their mothers were horrified.
We saw our first pussy willows and a pair of Mallards that we thought were going to mate. But a second male came in and spoiled the fun.
As expected, there were lots of Song Sparrows and Red-winged Blackbirds, including the first female of the season.
