Rural Roads near Richmond

March 31 and April 1, 2019

At home on a cloudy cool day with snow flurries, we received an RBA that 2 Sandhill Cranes had been spotted at the corner of Shea and Eagleson.

We went right over and managed to see the cranes in a corn field some distance off.  The weather conditions were not conducive to good photography!  At least on Rushmore, we got a close up of Horned Larks.

The following day, we returned, but as expected, the cranes had moved on.  But we had a very large flock of Snow Buntings on Rushmore and a first of spring pair of Killdeers.
